The Great Ocean Road is one of the most popular and famous road touring routes in Australia. It was inevitable while living in Melbourne that we would eventually make the trip down the famous road. So that’s just what we did this weekend. With the public holiday, the Queen’s Birthday, this weekend we took full advantage and ventured on down the road with Autopia Tours.
We rose early Saturday morning and got a lift from our lovely friends in to the city where we met our tour guide and other road-trippers in front St Paul’s Cathedral at 7.15am. Our tour included overnight accommodation in Hall’s Gap in a backpacker’s hostel called Ned’s Beds.
Our trip included firstly a drive down the coast towards Geelong, where we picked up another passenger and then onward to Lorne, Bells Beach, Memorial Arc, Apollo Bay, The 12 Apostles, Loch Ard Gorge, London Bridge and finally on to Warnambool for dinner about 7pm to conclude our first day of exploring the south west region. We then made our way to Grampians where we would rest up for the night before we exploring more of the Grampians National Park.
These are some of the many photos I took on our ‘Two-Day Great Ocean Road & Grampians’ Tour. I hope you like them :*
